Delete your account
This page explains how to delete your account with SPORTR, the sports coaching app run by SPORTR Ltd, and what happens to your data when you do.
Delete your account in the app
- Open the SPORTR app and sign in.
- Tap the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the very bottom and tap Delete account (just below Sign out).
- Type DELETE and tap Delete my account.
Your account is deleted straight away and you can't sign in again. You're signed out on every device, and on the website, at once.
Coaches with upcoming confirmed paid sessions (1:1 bookings, or community sessions with paid spots) need to complete or cancel them first, so no one is left without their session. Requests still waiting for your answer don't stop you: they're declined and the member isn't charged.
Delete your account without the app
Email hello@sportrapp.com from the email address on your SPORTR account and ask us to delete it, or use the form below. We check the request came from the account holder, delete the account within 30 days and confirm by email. The deletion itself is the same as in the app: everything below is removed at that moment.
What we delete
Straight away (when you delete in the app, or when we process your request):
- your name, email address, phone number, home address, city, county and postcode, bio and everything else you wrote on your profile
- your training and meeting locations (addresses and map points)
- your profile photo, and a coach's gallery photos and videos, session posters and the certificates they uploaded
- your password, sign-in with Apple, and your sign-in on every device and on the website, including password-reset codes
- the push notification registrations for your devices
- your Google Calendar connection (we also cancel our access with Google) and your private calendar feed link, which stops working
- saved card details (card type, last four digits and expiry), the cards stored for you at our payment provider, Stripe, and your name and email on your Stripe customer record
- booking requests still waiting for an answer, on either side: they're cancelled and any card hold is released, so nothing is charged. For coaches, members with a request waiting are told it wasn't confirmed. Upcoming free intro calls are cancelled too.
- your support requests, messages you sent through our contact form, and any waitlist sign-up with your email
- friend invites you sent, including the names, phone numbers and emails of the friends you entered
- any link between you and a coach made with an invite code, and a coach's own invite code
- the IP address recorded when you signed up
- the text of messages you sent in booking chats and of reviews you wrote. The other person sees “Deleted User” with no text. Star ratings you gave stay, with no name, so a coach's rating doesn't change.
- for coaches: upcoming community sessions with no paid spots are cancelled
Files, Google and Stripe are cleared at the same moment. If one of those services is unavailable, we retry automatically every day until it's done.
Deleted data may remain in our encrypted database backups for up to 7 days.
What we keep, and why
- Booking and payment records (what was booked, when, the amounts, refunds and coach payouts) for up to 7 years, because tax and accounting law requires us to keep financial records. They are no longer linked to your name or contact details: they show “Deleted User”. They still carry the reference numbers Stripe uses for your payments and payouts, so a refund or payout for a past session can still be paid.
- Stripe's records. Payments are processed by Stripe, which keeps its own records of the payments it handled under its own legal obligations and privacy policy. We can't delete those.
- Safety reports and blocks. If you reported someone, or someone reported or blocked you, that record is kept to keep our members safe. It shows “Deleted User” instead of your name. Blocks you made are removed.
- Referral rewards already paid. If a referral reward was already given, we keep a record that the friend joined, without their email address.
- A one-way code made from your email address and phone number (a “hash”). It can't be turned back into your email or phone number and contains no readable personal data. We use it only to prevent fraud and abuse of new-member offers: if the same email or phone number signs up again, the new account can't claim a coach's invite-code offer a second time. It is deleted after 3 years.
How long it takes
- In the app: immediately.
- By email or the form below: within 30 days of your request. Everything above is then removed at once.
More detail is in our Privacy Policy.
